Igor Pokaz

Senior Adviser

Igor Pokaz is a senior Croatian diplomat with extensive experience in international relations and defense policy. He served as Croatia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom (2017–2023), the Russian Federation (2012–2015), and as Permanent Representative to NATO (2008–2012). Prior to these roles, he held several positions within the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, including Deputy Chief of the Minister’s Cabinet and Under Secretary for Defense Policy.

Earlier in his career, Igor was posted to the Permanent Mission of Croatia to the United Nations in New York (1999–2003). Between 2007 and 2008, he briefly transitioned to the private sector as Head of the Office of the CEO at Atlantic Grupa, driving the company’s corporate social responsibility policies. He continues to follow developments in ESG to this day.

In 2023, Igor co-founded Martes Consulting, a management consulting company specializing in public affairs and private investment, where he serves as Director.

Igor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Zagreb, a Master’s in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and graduated from the Foreign Service Programme at the University of Oxford.
